Klia Airport Transfers And Layovers

Keikyū Airport Line Is in Tokyo: What to Use at KLIA

Keikyū serves Tokyo’s Haneda Airport, not Kuala Lumpur. For KLIA, compare Ekspres and Transit, then plan the onward ride to your hotel.

The Keikyū Airport Line serves Haneda Airport in Tokyo, Japan—not Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The operator’s station directory lists Haneda Airport Terminal 3 and Haneda Airport Terminal 1・2 on its Airport Line. Haneda’s own rail-access guide confirms connections to the Keikyu Line and Tokyo Monorail.

If your itinerary includes both Japan and Malaysia, keep the two airport journeys separate. For the Kuala Lumpur leg, the names to look for are KLIA Ekspres and KLIA Transit.

Which KLIA train fits your destination?

Both services connect KLIA Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 with KL Sentral. Their useful difference is where they stop—not a cheaper full-distance fare on Transit.

Service Best fit Published journey time Standard adult one-way fare to KL Sentral
KLIA Ekspres A direct airport-to-KL Sentral journey during regular non-stop operating hours 28 minutes between T1 and KL Sentral; allow another 3 minutes for T2 RM55
KLIA Transit A journey needing Bandar Tasik Selatan, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya or Salak Tinggi 39 minutes between T2 and KL Sentral RM55

These are the operator’s published fares and journey times as of 29 October 2026. See KLIA Ekspres details and KLIA Transit stops and fares. The operator advertises a 10% discount for purchases through its website or app. Ekspres trains switch to all-stations operation from 11pm, so the daytime journey time is not a late-night promise.

Buy for the service and destination you actually need. The operator states that Ekspres and Transit tickets are not interchangeable. Transit tickets also encode the boarding and exit stations; an intermediate-stop ticket is not permission to ride through to KL Sentral. Ticket rules

Plan beyond KL Sentral

KL Sentral is a transfer point, not necessarily the end of your arrival journey. For a KLCC base, change to the Kelana Jaya LRT toward Gombak and travel five stops to KLCC. Pasar Seni is the first stop in the same direction. Both routes follow the operator’s Kelana Jaya station sequence; our KL Sentral-to-Petronas guide covers the KLCC arrival.

Before buying, check your hotel’s entrance against the station exit—not just the nearest station name. With luggage, a short onward ride may be preferable to an exposed walk in heat or rain. Compare the whole journey using our KLIA transport options, door to door.

For a late arrival, check both the airport-train schedule and your onward LRT connection. Reaching KL Sentral by rail does not guarantee that the city train you need is still running.
